HPE's acquisition of Juniper Networks is complete

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) announced on July 2nd (local time) that it had successfully completed its acquisition of Juniper Networks.
After announcing the merger and acquisition in January of last year, there were difficulties with the merger and acquisition, including lawsuits with the U.S. Department of Justice, but it was eventually completed after reaching an agreement.

This merger will enable HPE to build an industry-leading cloud-native and AI-driven IT portfolio, including a complete, modern networking stack, enabling it to capture the growing AI and hybrid cloud market opportunities. HPE's networking business will now double in size, enabling it to offer customers a comprehensive portfolio of networking solutions.

“"Today marks the beginning of a new era for HPE. We are now at the center of IT innovation, where AI and networking converge.

In addition to enabling HPE to offer customers modern network architecture alternatives and a more differentiated and complete portfolio across hybrid cloud, AI, and networking, this merger will accelerate our profitable growth strategy by strengthening our customer relationships and expanding our overall market reach into attractive adjacent geographies.”

– Antonio Neri, CEO of HPE

“HPE and Juniper have a unique opportunity to disrupt the networking industry at a critical and opportune time.
This will enable us to provide our customers and partners with a secure network built on AI, specifically for AI.”

– Rami Rahim, President & GM of HPE Networking

Over the past two decades, the number of users, devices, applications, and the amount of data they generate has grown exponentially.
This has significantly increased complexity and made managing network performance and security much more difficult.
At the same time, AI has brought about the greatest technological innovation of this generation.

AI relies on massive, distributed data sets that must be securely and sustainably connected to train or fine-tune base or agent models and deploy them for inference.

In other words, the network must do more than simply connect users, servers, and storage.
It must adapt, scale, and become continuously intelligent.

Simply put, networks are as important as silicon in realizing the power and value of AI.

The journey ahead

HPE and Juniper have joined forces at a pivotal time to deliver an industry-leading, secure, AI-native network, purpose-built for AI and AI, delivering exceptional user and operator experiences. The combined HPE will differentiate itself based on three key pillars:.

  • AI Native Operations: As the industry's first multi-vendor agent AI operation, this integrated networking solution, built on over a decade of data science, boasts an efficiency of over 80%. No other network provider offers multi-vendor AI operation through continuous learning from large-scale experience models.
  • A complete client-to-cloud network portfolio: The new end-to-end network portfolio features a single, cloud-native management platform with on-premises and virtual private cloud (VPC) options, featuring powerful hardware suited for all domains (enterprise, service provider, and cloud). This delivers reliable and consistent end-to-end performance to customers, enabling superior user experiences and streamlined operator experience.
  • Integrated Security: HPE offers a complete security portfolio (NAC, SSE, firewall) integrated under a common management platform. As the first company to integrate network and security management through a common UI and AI engine, HPE delivers a consistent user experience across all locations, saving time and money while improving accuracy.

Whether customers are building the right network to drive strategic AI initiatives or using AI to optimize network operations, they can now leverage both HPE Aruba Networking and HPE Juniper Networking products and solutions—part of a next-generation technology architecture—to deliver the power, performance, and manageability AI demands.

This acquisition will enable HPE to drive monumental IT innovation that pushes the boundaries of possibility.
