Announcing the ArubaCX 10000 Series

⏱️ Estimated reading time: Approx. 5 minutes (5 min read)

Aruba is the first in the industry to Distributed Service Switch The product family announced the ArubaOS-CX 10000 Series switches.
Distributed service switches will help enterprises today deploy software-defined stateful services wherever they generate and process data.
This eliminates legacy appliances and host-based software, providing the environment needed to build modern applications and hybrid clouds that IT organizations demand.

This switch enables distributed services previously available only in hyperscale environments like AWS to be more simple and cost-effective in enterprise environments with Pensando's Software-in-Silicon.

By eliminating legacy appliances and hosted software, enterprises can now achieve 100x scalability and 10x performance at 1/3 the TCO.

This new solution is available on HPE servers. Pensando Decentralized Service Platform (DSP)It is an extension of .
The Aruba CX 10000 Series extends the implementation of these intelligent services into the fabric of the data center network (DCN), enabling them to be used across a variety of infrastructure environments, including heterogeneous environments, instead of deploying SmartNICs.

Aruba CX 10000 Series Switchesis a new category of data center switch that combines best-in-class Aruba data center L2/L3 switch technology with the industry's only fully programmable DPU (Pensando Elba) to deliver stateful software-defined services.

Moving to a new distributed services architecture

The Aruba CX 10000 Series switches with Pensando deliver a completely new kind of switching solution that overcomes the limitations of legacy architectures. With the Aruba CX 10000 Series, operators can now extend industry-standard leaf-spine networking with Distributed Stateful Segmentation, East-West Firewall, NAT, encryption, and telemetry services.

Previously, it was impractical and expensive to centralize and force network traffic to enforce policies for distributed advanced networking and security services. Enterprises will be able to easily deploy these services at the network access layer edge where applications run.

  • On-premise enterprise data centers and private clouds:
Traditional data center architectures that utilize centralized, hardware-based security appliances have reached their limits in terms of continuously available performance, agility, and cost burden.
The Aruba CX 10000 switches deliver a powerful architecture for deploying advanced services to the data center edge with unified networking, security automation, and policy management.
This new solution helps optimize network bandwidth and performance without the need to centralize local traffic, limiting appliance sprawl, complexity, and costs while improving security posture.
  • Co-location Edge – Securely connect with cloud providers
The cost of encrypting access to the public cloud using legacy appliances is prohibitively high.
Many companies have compliance obligations that require all access to public cloud resources to be encrypted.
Aruba CX 10000 switches provide edge routing, line encryption, firewall, and NAT, along with end-to-end telemetry for dedicated connectivity to public clouds from on-premises or co-location data centers.
This solution reduces IT risks for your organization by lowering overall costs and providing an optimized security architecture.

Unified networking and security policies, automation

Aruba Fabric Composeris the unified network and security management engine for the Aruba CX 10000 Series.
In addition to handling all switch and network configurations, Aruba Fabric Composer can also define firewall policies for both switches and distributed firewalls. Aruba Fabric Composer interacts with the switches themselves and their built-in security policies.

These integrated configurations include Spine-Leaf fabric creation, VSX (MLAG) switch provisioning, OSPF/BGP underlay and BGP EVPN overlay provisioning, and integrated security policy automation across end-to-end visualization across servers, switches, NICs, hypervisors, VMs, and containers.

The Aruba CX 10000 also integrates via REST APIs, providing flow data to multiple network performance and security tools, including Advanced Security Machine Learning (XDR), Application Dependency Mapping (ADM), Network Performance Management (NPM), and SIEM/SOAR.

It's time to redefine data center switching.

Enterprises seeking to accelerate digital initiatives and cloud-native application development require agile, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure. Aruba's next-generation data center switches are a game-changer, empowering enterprises to deliver unparalleled digital experiences with unprecedented scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
