End users' digital experiences depend on the quality of their LAN networks and WAN networks (e.g., the Internet).
This means that network administrators must not only deploy and maintain the best network infrastructure, but also monitor network performance to ensure end users can access applications efficiently.
Watch the video below to learn more about how HPE Aruba Networking's User eXperience Insight (UXI) solution helps you resolve issues through pre-testing, problem triage, and incident detection, notifying you of issues before users are impacted.
Today, we're introducing a new feature that can help you reframe your situation to solve problems.
as soon as, Path Analysis(Path analysis).
Path Analysis is a new feature of UXI, making it a very comprehensive network and service assurance solution.
UXI path analysis gives IT teams a blueprint of how applications travel from the edge to the server, traversing vast distances across global network environments.
Now your IT team can pinpoint exactly where the problem occurred and what the problem was.
So whenever a user complains, “The application is slow,” “I can’t share my screen,” or “the audio is really bad,” the IT team can use the UXI dashboard to not only confirm that high latency is the cause of the problem, but also why (for example, the path may be being routed through a server far from the user).

The best part is that UXI does this for every application you configure, so you don't have to do it yourself!
This means your IT team can proactively identify issues like complaints about inaccessible web applications due to service outages in specific regions, or ISP actions that block website traffic only in a specific region.
Unlike other solutions that provide traditional, known, unified visibility, UXI Path Analytics goes beyond providing traditional L3 trace paths.

It visualizes all possible paths your IT team takes for outbound traffic, and even provides the option to go back to a previous timestamp to visualize traffic paths from past data (see screenshot above).
UXI Path Analysis provides next-generation app performance observability with the following differentiated features:
- Comprehensive visualization of all possible paths: ICMP and TCP-based routes to the same destination
- Reduce MTTR/MTTI: Clear segmentation of paths (e.g., device, local network, ISP, Internet, application)
- A single view analyzing all application paths: Compare all application paths through one screen
- Visibility into role-based network paths: Comparing wired and wireless network paths
(Compare routes originating within the corporate network with routes originating from networks outside the corporate network) - Quickly troubleshoot issues with at-a-glance summary route metrics
- No additional tokens or additional licenses required
- No need to install additional agents in the cloud
UXI measures application responsiveness 24/7, regardless of user traffic. This makes a significant difference in service assurance.
UXI is a key solution that ensures application performance, digital experience resilience, and reduces MTTI and MTTR in everyday workflows.
Real use cases
We have confirmed the issues experienced by actual GreenLake Platform users through UXI path analysis.
The issue was reported at approximately 7:44 PM US time on May 27th.
When we checked the UXI path analysis one hour before the problem occurred (19:00~20:00), we could see that 14 web servers were operating.

However, at the time the problem occurred (20:00-21:00), only 7 web servers were running.

After the issue was resolved (21:00-22:00), we can confirm that 13 servers have been restored.

All issues were resolved after 11pm.
This allows us to identify at a glance when a problem occurs and the cause of the problem in the web application, and respond quickly.
Our IT infrastructure is becoming increasingly complex, with numerous systems and applications intertwined and operating on a single server rather than a single server.
Therefore, when a problem occurs, it is not easy to find the cause and respond.
I think this is why many companies are looking for and implementing observability solutions these days.
UXI solutions not only analyze and visualize the status of corporate network infrastructure in real time, but also quickly reveal application-level issues, enabling them to cover areas that existing monitoring solutions, such as NMS, cannot.
It can also be used to solve complex IT problems or challenges, such as checking the latency of all your web servers or applications, identifying ISP link failures across multiple WAN segments, or verifying the network path resiliency of your SD-WAN infrastructure.

UXI's Path-Analysis feature can be activated through your current UXI account without the need to subscribe or install any additional licenses.
If you're already running UXI, enable Path Analysis in Settings now to gain greater visibility.
