Central with added application visibility capabilities

When you watch detective novels or movies, do you remember how the main character solves the case?

Imagine Sherlock Holmes solving a case without his keen powers of observation.
You will get lost in the maze of clues and miss important details.

Likewise, IT teams navigating today's complex networks need more than basic device, endpoint, and configuration telemetry.
You want real-time visibility into application performance to uncover hidden issues and optimize operations.

HPE is committed to enhancing your network management experience. Application Visibility Added functionality to HPE Aruba Networking Central.

Imagine being in an important executive meeting and experiencing slow response times in critical communication tools like Teams or Zoom?
Identifying a problem without visibility is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Is there a problem with the application, network congestion, or something else entirely?

Application visibility can help you quickly identify and resolve issues related to your IT infrastructure, including:.

  • Secure the bandwidth your business-critical applications need.
  • Maintaining Security Compliance for SaaS Applications
  • Provide CIOs with clear insights into SaaS adoption.

We need to move away from reacting to problems after they occur in network management.
We need to shift to a proactive approach to help you resolve issues quickly and maintain a seamless user experience.

Edge-based DPI utilization

HPE Aruba Networking devices such as CX switches, access points, and gateways play a key role in providing comprehensive application visibility thanks to their advanced deep packet inspection (DPI) engine that enables Layer 7 application control at the access port.

Key findings from Gartner's latest Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure include:.

“Aruba is a service provider for switch stacks. Software Upgrade (ISSU)and access port Layer 7 application control”We have differentiated our switching hardware from our competitors through two key features:”

This capability provides rich, real-time insights into every data packet, enhancing application visibility and policy control.

The DPI engine provides detailed visibility from Layer 4 to Layer 7, enabling you to efficiently resolve issues like slow file transfers and manage bandwidth for critical applications. This technology ensures both network performance and security by applying comprehensive controls and policies directly at the network edge.

Synthesize DPI telemetry into actionable insights.

Wondering how to leverage DPI application telemetry more effectively?

The new HPE Aruba Networking Central delivers deeper network application intelligence than ever before.
The application visibility screen in HPE Aruba Networking Central now leverages extensive application telemetry from CX switches, access points, and gateways to identify and classify over 4,950 applications across 30+ categories.

We've also enhanced our web content classification capabilities by integrating Brightcloud, which classifies over 43 billion URLs and over 1 billion domains with a low false positive rate of less than 0.21 TP3T. This includes classifying websites into over 80 categories, including new areas like generative AI.

You can also view allowed or blocked applications, their type (public, private, hybrid), usage patterns, security risks, roles, TLS visibility, and application origin by country.
You can also easily identify anomalous behavior by drilling down into the user categories that accessed a specific application (e.g., company employees, contractors, guests), the types of endpoints that accessed that application (e.g., IoT and company devices), and the devices that users accessed the application from (e.g., users trying to access Workday on their laptops or mobile phones).

Application Dashboard

This comprehensive telemetry is fed into Client Insights, providing advanced profiling of wired and wireless endpoints and behavioral analytics for IoT devices.

Additionally, the new HPE Aruba Networking Central correlates application performance with RF statistics, enabling network administrators to quickly identify the root cause of performance issues, such as clients in the 2.4 GHz band, high channel utilization, RF retries or dropouts, and poor signal strength. All these metrics are easily displayed on the new application dashboard.
